Rangel & Camp Introduce Tax Technical Corrections Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) and Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI) today introduced legislation to make technical corrections to U.S. tax laws. The legislation responds to various inquiries from the public and government enforcement agencies with respect to the application of tax laws, and clarifies Congressional intent of those laws. Leaders on the Senate Finance Committee are expected to introduce identical legislation.

"This bill responds to valuable feedback we have received to improve on how America's tax laws are operating," said Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY). "I am pleased to join Ranking Member Camp in drafting and introducing this legislation. We urge interested parties to view the Joint Committee on Taxation's technical explanation of the provisions in H.R. 4169. I hope the House and Senate can swiftly pass this legislation."

"As every individual, family and employer - both small and large - knows the tax code is excruciatingly complex and these corrections are an attempt to fix errors that further complicate compliance," said Ways and Means Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI).
