New State-by-State Analysis: 3.3 Million Americans Would Lose Unemployment Benefits Under GOP Bill

WASHINGTON – The Department of Labor late this afternoon released a state-by-state analysis showing that 3.3 million Americans would lose unemployment benefits as a result of the GOP bill compared to a continuation of current law. Republicans have proposed cutting federal unemployment insurance to a maximum of 33 weeks, on top of the 26 weeks that most states offer.
