Neal Statement on President Biden’s FY24 Budget

WASHINGTON, DC — Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement on President Biden’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget:

“As we move from a historic recovery to sustained economic growth, the President’s Fiscal Year 2024 will responsibly expand economic opportunity and lower costs for workers and families. Our historic achievements are already transforming America, and this budget shows who we are for: the people. From restoring the Child Tax Credit to making universal paid family and medical leave a reality to permanently extending the premium tax credits, this is how you continue to build an economy from the middle-out and the bottom-up. All of this is done responsibly and ensures the wealthiest are paying their fair share.

“The contrast is all too clear. While Democrats once again advance a blueprint to spread opportunity and give Americans more breathing room, Republicans openly plot to default on our obligations and hand another tax cut to the top 1%.
