Neal Statement on October 2026 Jobs Report
SPRINGFIELD, MA— Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the October 2026 jobs report:
“Zoom out and the story of Trump’s record remains the same: a job market that remains too difficult to break into and seven months of wages that can’t keep up with the rising gas, health care, and grocery costs that his tariffs and war have forced Americans to burden.
“There’s a reason the people spoke so resoundingly to reject the failure of Republican leadership. They're tired of leaders who put the interests of the ultra-wealthy and one man’s ego before all else. Families want an agenda that lets them earn a paycheck without sacrificing the care of a loved one, protects their health care, ends price-hiking, business-crushing tariffs, and puts a stop to the corruption that has plagued the White House for nearly two years. Democrats are working tirelessly to right this ship and bring relief to the people.”
