Neal Statement on July 2026 Jobs Report

SPRINGFIELD, MA— Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the July 2026 jobs report:

“The story of the Trump economy has been written, and it’s one of betrayal. On top of his litany of failures, Trump is now shredding opportunity at breakneck pace. Meanwhile, Republicans are letting the President cash in, adding more to his wallet than he has during his entire career and shielding himself with sweetheart immunity from our tax laws. Republicans have made their message painfully clear: they do not care about your struggles.

“Republicans’ failures have led to higher costs, less opportunity, and wages that can’t keep up with the incompetence of their governance. But we can still choose a better path, one where your wallet matters more than the President’s bottom line and your health care matters more than a helipad.”
