Neal Statement on IRS Commissioner Werfel

WASHINGTON, DC—Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after Mr. Danny Werfel was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service: 

“At last, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has a leader to guide the new era of service and modernization fueled by the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. Commissioner Werfel is up to the challenge of restoring the nation’s trust in the IRS, and finally doing away with our two-tiered tax system.
