Neal Statement on the Failed Promise of Trump Rx

SPRINGFIELD, MA — Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the Trump Administration unveiled an all style, no substance website that leaves more questions than answers on consumer savings for drug prices:

“Unveiling a slick website to distract from presiding over the greatest loss of health care in our nation’s history, skyrocketing costs, and forcing millions to drop their coverage, is a hollow trick that only Trump would be fooled into thinking could work. The American people, however, will see right through it. More style without any substance, with no answers about how prices will actually be lowered, if at all, or who will even benefit. If we know anything about the president, there must be something in it for him and his own pockets.

“Patients don’t need another website that sends them to another website. They need lower prices at the pharmacy counter. If achieving that was truly Trump’s goal, he’d join House Democrats in expanding upon the progress we’ve already achieved.”
