Neal Statement on Democrats Stopping Trump’s Reckless Tariffs with Canada

WASHINGTON, DC—Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after Democrats forced a vote terminating Trump’s Canada tariffs:

“For a year, Republicans have enabled and have run cover for a President who is deliberately making life more expensive. Their obstruction and the indifference to Americans’ wallets ends now. With this vote, we put families first and sent the president a clear message: the cracks are forming in his tariff scheme that’s teetered the economy. Democrats will keep fighting to lower costs for the people.”
