Neal Statement on Davis Retirement

SPRINGFIELD, MA— Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after Ways and Means Worker and Family Support Subcommittee Ranking Member Danny K. Davis (D-IL) announced that he will not seek reelection: 

“For nearly three decades, Ranking Member Danny Davis has been a force for good in the halls of Congress and a relentless champion for the people of Chicago’s West Side. As Chair and longtime member of the Worker and Family Support Subcommittee, Danny brought heart, humanity, and purpose to some of the most consequential work Congress undertakes—fighting for kids, uplifting families, and centering policy around those who too often go unnoticed.

“Danny’s leadership has left a lasting mark on our committee, our caucus, and this country. He’s built an incredible career, along with a loyal staff, devoted to equity and dignity. I will miss my friend, and thank him for his extraordinary service.”
