Neal Spokesperson Statement on the China Select Committee’s Economic Report

WASHINGTON, DC—Dylan Peachey, a spokesperson for Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA), released the following statement after the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (Select Committee) released an economic report:  

“The Chinese government’s state-led, non-market, anti-competitive approach threatens American workers and businesses, and Ranking Member Neal shares the Select Committee’s concerns. Unfortunately, many of their proposals are better suited for headlines than guidelines. When confronting these challenges, Congress must take a cohesive approach where one policy does not undermine the goal of another.”
